As part of Itchen Valley Country Parks BioBlitz, a 24 hour wildlife count

Join a member of Hampshire Bat Group for a fun and informative guided walk to discover which bats inhabit our meadows and ancient forests here at Itchen Valley!

You will be given a bat detector to learn about echo location and how to listen to the calls of different species.

The evening starts with an informative talk about the nocturnal mammals, followed by a short walk with detectors to listen out for the different species flying around. Suitable for adults and children 6 + years.

Bats need our help because they face many threats, from loss of habitat, roost sites, light pollution and decline in the abundance of nocturnal insects.
